This is Nicholson country all around. After the wet each year, before we started mustering, the graders had to come in and make roads to all the mustering camps. First we had to bring out the portable yards to those camps that had no proper (permanent) yards. Then all the supplies for the stockman were carted out. Then after the muster, the trucks came in to take the cattle to the meat works at Wyndham. Every year these roads had to be made - during the wet they were just washed away - disappeared - and gosh, were they rough. The country was still wet at first, so everything that traveled on these roads left its mark- deep tracks and potholes that got even worse when the road dried out. Limestone and flat rock country all around, with just a few little hills there in Carbaw country to the south-east.
